Meet Carrie Santell

I’m a history geek – and I knew early on I wanted to work in a museum, not be a teacher. I earned my BA in History and I have my Masters in Museum Studies with an emphasis in Collections Management. While gaining experience in different museum settings, I found I enjoyed the museum store world the most; I was able to work with the other members of different departments and also use my creative side in custom product production and interact with visitors on a regular basis.

Born & raised in the Bay Area of California – my family spent a number of years living on the east coast. We were close enough to make frequent visits to Washington DC, Gettysburg, Monticello, and many other great American historical sites & cities. While living on the east coast, it is also how and when my father first began his Amsoil business. But eventually, we returned to California. More recently, I moved to Sacramento for a new job; one that like so many others was affected by the onset of Covid-19.

How does all that relate to Amsoil you ask?

Because one of the museums I worked at was the USS Hornet Sea, Air & Space Museum. A decommissioned aircraft carrier most famous for retrieving the astronauts of Apollo 11 & 12. While there, my duties also included supervision of the flight simulator – heavy equipment that relied on the use of oil and lubricants on a regular basis. As a result of implementing the use of Amsoil at that site, we reduced the instances of “down time” the flight simulator incurred and upon regular state inspection time, we earned the unofficial title of one of the cleanest, efficient, and best cared for machines in the state. The state inspectors were always highly impressed with its working condition.

I know I don’t look like your average (although devoted) Amsoil customer and dealer. But I recognize the quality of the product. Other smart women will do the same as they take care of their own vehicles in increasing numbers. And I’m still learning this business too. Please reach out if you have questions.
